So you have finally moved in together! Don’t treat each other like pieces of furniture; romance, respect and relax in house!

Here are my own personal thoughts and ideas for staying relaxed but in love; at home with your partner:

– Firstly, you live together; yet respect boundaries! Trust me you will miss it when it is gone. Don’t be that guy walking alone down the street at Christmas; looking in peoples windows, seeing people have fun! Give your partner the respect you gave them on your first date. They are not your sister or brother or mother or father; have self respect by respecting them.

– Housework, chores, cooking, washing; do them as a team because they are for the benefit of both of you. Do them together or separate the tasks; yet communicate and pull your weight. For example: you want to rest after eating your dinner; yet the kitchen is a state and your girl has started pacing up and down the kitchen. Be the better man and tell her to put her pretty little legs up. Tell her you are digesting your dinner for fifteen minutes; afterwards you will be her man servant and clean that kitchen better than Mr Muscle!

– Do not let your own personal interests take over your shared space. You love cycling and have lots of different bikes? You have a drum kit or even a model train set? Well they belong out in a shed or garage. Keep the living spaces free and uncluttered; to respect your partner.

– In the past I have been called a caveman because of my brutally simple outlook on life. Well in my opinion every cave woman has a natural instinct to create a happy, comfortable and relaxing ‘cave’. Therefore, if your good lady starts talking of home improvement; help in anyway you can. Even if you find painting or putting up shelves mind numbingly boring; put on a brave face and smile. At home with your partner; learn to relax and enjoy it all.

This will apparently reconnect our natural magnetic connection to Earth which is lost through shoes, floors, beds and buildings. Which may bring benefits such as a stronger immune system, reduced risk of heart disease and other serious illnesses… Read more

A short ride up into the quiet Castanesa valley made me realise the importance of relaxing now. By being relaxed I could appreciate every second of every passing moment in all its simplicity. High in the Spanish Pyrenees lies the Castanesa valley. Relatively untouched by tourism or main roads; a journey into this valley seems… Read more
